The Audient EVO 16 is a multi-channel USB audio interface designed as a central solution for larger project and professional studios that require a large number of simultaneous inputs, stable synchronization and fast workflow. The model combines the EVO series philosophy of simplified control with a large-scale I/O architecture suitable for recording bands, drums, ensembles and hybrid studio configurations.
The interface features a total of eight microphone inputs, implemented via combined XLR/¼" TRS connectors. Two of them are located on the front panel and support microphone, line and Hi-Z modes, allowing direct connection of guitars and basses without external DI devices. The remaining six combined inputs are designed for microphone and line signals. All preamplifiers offer up to 58 dB of gain, low self-noise and EIN below -128 dBu, which ensures clean recording even with quieter sources. Individually switchable 48 V phantom power allows flexible operation with different types of microphones.
As with other models in the series, the EVO 16 features automatic input level control. The function analyzes the input signal and sets the optimal gain without clipping, which significantly speeds up setup for multi-channel recordings. Manual control via the central encoder remains available for fine-tuning when full control is required.
The Audient EVO 16 operates at resolutions up to 96 kHz / 24-bit and uses high-quality A/D and D/A converters. The dynamic range reaches approximately 112.5 dBA for A/D and 121 dBA for D/A conversion, which ensures stable detail and clarity for recording and monitoring. The frequency response of the microphone and line inputs reaches 40 kHz, and the Hi-Z inputs – up to 20 kHz, which guarantees a neutral and transparent sound.
One of the key features of the EVO 16 is its digital expansion. The interface features two ADAT / S/PDIF inputs and two outputs, allowing you to add additional channels and reach a total of 24 inputs and 24 outputs. This makes it suitable for extended setups with external preamps and converters. The presence of a Word Clock output ensures stable synchronization when working with other digital devices.
The analog output section includes eight balanced ¼" TRS line outputs, suitable for monitoring, external processors or multi-channel systems. The two independent headphone outputs provide convenience for multi-artist recordings, offering sufficient power and low distortion at different impedances.
The EVO 16 is mounted in a 1U rack format and uses internal AC power, ensuring stable operation in heavy configurations. The color LCD display provides clear visual control over levels, settings and routing, making it easy to work with complex recordings. Compatibility with macOS and Windows makes it a universal solution for modern studio environments.
