The audio interface The Audient EVO 8 is a compact USB audio interface designed for users who need more inputs and outputs but want to maintain the fast and intuitive workflow of the EVO series. It is aimed at multi-part podcasters, small music projects, streaming setups, and home studios that record multiple sources simultaneously without the need for complex studio setups.
The interface features four combo XLR/¼" TRS mic/line inputs, each equipped with a preamplifier with up to 58 dB. The preamps are designed with low self-noise and EIN below -128 dBu, which ensures clean and stable recording even with quieter sources. Each input has individually switchable 48 V phantom power, allowing simultaneous operation with condenser and dynamic microphones in various combinations.
As with other models in the series, the EVO 8 uses automatic input level control. The four inputs can be set automatically, with the interface analyzing the signal and setting the optimal gain without clipping. This is especially useful for podcasts, interviews and quick recordings with multiple participants, where setup time is limited. Manual control via the central encoder remains available for more precise adjustment.
A separate Hi-Z input with 1 MΩ impedance is located on the front panel, designed for direct connection of an electric guitar or bass. The maximum input level of up to +10 dBu ensures stable operation with passive adapters, while preserving the dynamics and frequency balance of the instrument.
The Audient EVO 8 operates at a maximum resolution of up to 96 kHz / 24-bit and uses A/D and D/A converters with a dynamic range of around 113 dBA. The frequency response of the microphone and line inputs reaches 40 kHz, and the Hi-Z input reaches 20 kHz, which ensures a transparent and neutral sound when recording. Low THD+N values and a stable SNR of around 100 dB contribute to a clean and controlled audio picture.
The output section includes four balanced ¼" TRS line outputs, allowing for operation with two stereo monitor pairs or alternative routings. Two independent ¼" TRS headphone outputs are also available, which is practical when recording with more than one artist. The headphone amplifiers provide sufficient power to handle headphones of varying impedance without noticeable loss of dynamics.
Visual control is provided by a multi-segment LED meter that shows input and output levels clearly and legibly. There are functions for muting individual inputs and the main output, making it easy to control while recording or streaming.
The EVO 8 connects via USB-C, uses the USB 2.0 protocol, and is fully bus-powered, with no external adapter required. Its compact body and low weight make it convenient for portable use, while offering enough inputs and outputs for more serious tasks. It is compatible with macOS and Windows and is designed as a practical and reliable solution for daily work with multiple audio sources.
