Description
The Audio-Technica ATH-M70x are closed-back studio headphones designed for precision tracking, mixing, and mastering. This is the M-series model, aimed at the highest level of detail and maximum neutral reproduction, suitable for professional studio environments, post-production, and high-resolution audio work.
The headphones use 45mm dynamic drivers with neodymium magnets, which provide an extended frequency range from 5Hz to 40kHz. This range allows for clear reproduction of both deep sub-bass frequencies and fine high-frequency details, which is critical for final control of a mix or master. The sound profile is tuned for a balanced and broad tonal coverage, without artificially emphasizing certain frequencies.
The closed-back design provides good passive isolation and minimal sound leakage. This makes them suitable for both recording and critical listening in a control room. The model does not have active noise cancellation (ANC), as the isolation is entirely mechanical.
The over-ear (circumaural) design completely surrounds the ears and contributes to comfort during prolonged use. The cups rotate 90°, which facilitates one-sided monitoring. The foldable design allows for easier transport and storage.
The 35 ohm impedance ensures good compatibility with both professional audio interfaces and mobile devices. The 97 dB sensitivity and 2000 mW maximum input power ensure stable operation without distortion at higher levels.
The ATH-M70x use interchangeable single-sided cables. Three cables of varying lengths are included, allowing for flexibility according to the working environment. Connection is via a gold-plated 3.5mm TRS connector, and a 6.3mm screw adapter for professional equipment is also included.
With a weight of 281 g and a sturdy premium construction, the model combines comfort and durability for intensive daily use.
