The Audio-Technica ATH-M20xBT are wireless closed-back over-ear headphones designed as a Bluetooth version of the well-known M20x studio model. They combine the series' signature balanced and clear sound with the convenience of wireless connectivity and exceptionally long battery life, making them suitable for everyday listening, work, online meetings and mobile studios.
The headphones use 40mm dynamic drivers that deliver a rich, controlled sound with a frequency range of up to 32kHz when wireless. The closed-back design helps provide good passive isolation from ambient noise and allows for more focused listening on the go or in noisy environments. The 36 ohm impedance makes them easy to drive both via Bluetooth and wired connections.
The ATH-M20xBT work with Bluetooth 5.0, supporting AAC and SBC codecs for stable and high-quality wireless audio. The connection range is about 10 meters, which is more than enough for everyday use with a smartphone, laptop or tablet. The built-in buttons on the left earcup allow direct control of playback, volume and calls without having to reach for the device.
The built-in microphone is omnidirectional, suitable for calls, online meetings, and remote work. This makes the headphones a universal solution for both listening to music and communicating.
One of the strongest advantages of the ATH-M20xBT is its impressive autonomy – up to 60 hours of operation on a single charge. This makes them an excellent choice for long trips and intensive daily use. Fast charging is supported, with 10 minutes of charging providing about 3 hours of listening. A full charge takes approximately 4 hours via the USB-C port.
The headphones feature an over-ear design, soft ear cushions and headband that provide comfort for extended wear. They are non-foldable and do not feature rotating ear cups, emphasizing their orientation towards stable and reliable everyday use. At 216g, the ATH-M20xBT remain relatively light for their class.
If necessary, they can also be used wired, via the included 3.5 mm audio cable, which is useful when the battery is low or when working with studio equipment.
