Description
The Audient iD14 MKII is a compact yet highly capable USB audio interface designed for users who need professional sound quality, a wider input/output configuration, and future expansion without the need for a large studio interface. The model is a logical step up from the iD4 MKII and is aimed at musicians, producers, and engineers who work in home and project studios but have higher demands for flexibility.
The interface features two combo XLR/¼" TRS mic/line inputs equipped with mic preamps based on Audient's console technology. Each preamp offers up to 58 dB of gain and very low self-noise with an EIN of -129 dBu A-weighted, allowing for clean and detailed recording even with lower-sensitivity dynamic microphones. Individually switchable 48 V phantom power on each input provides complete freedom when using condenser microphones.
A dedicated Hi-Z input is also available on the front panel for direct connection of an electric guitar or bass. It offers up to 40 dB of gain and is optimized for instruments, preserving the attack, dynamics and frequency balance of the signal. The maximum input level of +10 dBu allows stable operation even with more powerful passive adapters.
The Audient iD14 MKII operates at a maximum resolution of 96 kHz / 24-bit and uses high-quality A/D and D/A converters with a dynamic range of up to 120 dB for analog-to-digital conversion and up to 125.5 dB for digital-to-analog. The frequency response is linear from 10 Hz to 40 kHz, which provides transparent and uncolored sound both during recording, playback and monitoring.
One of the key features of the iD14 MKII is its digital expansion via an optical ADAT / S/PDIF input. At 48 kHz, the interface can accept up to 8 additional digital channels, allowing for system expansion with external preamps or converters. This makes the compact iD14 MKII the core of a larger studio setup without having to change the interface.
The output section includes four balanced ¼" TRS line/monitor outputs, allowing for operation with two monitor pairs or additional routings. In addition, two headphone outputs are available – ¼" TRS and 3.5 mm, powered by a powerful headphone amplifier with an output power of up to 223 mW at 30 Ω. This ensures sufficient headroom and control even with headphones with higher impedance.
Visual control is provided by two multi-segment LED level indicators, and control is intuitive with separate potentiometers for input gain and master level. The interface connects via USB-C, uses the USB 3.0 / 3.1 Gen 1 protocol, and is fully bus-powered, without an external adapter.
