The Audient iD4 MKII audio interface is a compact USB audio interface designed for musicians, producers, podcasters, and content creators looking for professional sound quality in a minimalist and easy-to-use format.
At the heart of the iD4 MKII is a combined XLR/¼" TRS microphone/line input, equipped with a microphone preamp that offers up to 58 dB of gain and extremely low self-noise with an EIN of -129 dB A-weighted, allowing clean recording even with dynamic microphones with lower sensitivity. The maximum input level of up to +12 dBu provides sufficient headroom with louder sources, and the individually switchable 48 V phantom power allows direct operation with condenser microphones.
A dedicated Hi-Z input on the front panel is designed for direct connection of an electric guitar or bass. It offers up to 40 dB of gain and an impedance optimized for instruments, which preserves the dynamics and frequency balance of the signal. The maximum input level of +12 dBu allows you to work with even hotter adapters without distortion.
The interface operates at resolutions up to 96 kHz / 24-bit and uses high-quality A/D and D/A converters with a dynamic range of up to 120 dB at input and 125.5 dB at output. The frequency response is linear from 10 Hz to 40 kHz, which provides detailed and transparent sound both when recording and monitoring. Low THD+N values and high SNR contribute to a clean and uncolored audio picture.
The output section includes two balanced ¼" TRS monitor outputs for studio monitors, as well as two headphone outputs, a standard ¼" TRS and an additional 3.5 mm jack. The headphone amplifier offers high output power of up to 223 mW at 30 Ω and is capable of driving both low-impedance and high-impedance headphones without loss of control or dynamics. The dynamic range of the headphone output reaches 125.5 dB, which is rare in this class.
Visual control is provided by two multi-segment LED indicators, which provide a clear view of input and output levels. Control is direct and intuitive, with separate potentiometers for input gain and master level, as well as a monitor mute function.
The Audient iD4 MKII connects via USB-C and uses USB 3.0 / 3.1 Gen 1. The interface is compatible with macOS, Windows and iOS devices, allowing use with both a computer and an iPad or iPhone.
