The Sigma 200mm f/2 DG OS | Sports combines a fast f/2 aperture with a professional optical design of 19 elements in 14 groups, including 2 FLD and 2 SLD glass elements, for minimal chromatic aberration and maximum detail throughout the image. Additional special coatings reduce flare and improve contrast even when working in backlit conditions.
The autofocus system relies on an HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) motor, which provides fast, precise and silent focusing – ideal for sports and wildlife, but also for video. The OS2 optical stabilization offers up to 6.5 stops of compensation, which is a huge advantage when shooting handheld with such a fast and heavy lens.
The body is made of magnesium alloy, with a dust- and moisture-resistant construction, a water- and oil-repellent coating on the front element, and a heat-resistant layer to withstand various weather conditions. A rotating Arca-Swiss compatible tripod foot ensures stability when using a tripod, and control over settings is maximized with AFL buttons, focus limiter, OS modes, and a lockable aperture ring.
