The 7Artisans AF 35mm f/1.8 offers a balance between compactness, brightness and good optical performance. Thanks to its f/1.8 aperture, it delivers excellent results in low-light scenes as well as smoothly defocused backgrounds.
The optical design consists of 11 elements in 8 groups, including aspherical, ED and HR elements. This combination minimizes chromatic aberrations and distortion, ensuring high sharpness and contrast from the center to the edges of the frame. The 11-blade diaphragm offers soft and pleasing bokeh, which adds an artistic effect to portraits and close-ups.
The autofocus uses a stepping motor (STM), which is fast and quiet, making it ideal for video and stills. Additionally, there is a smooth manual focus ring, as well as an AF/MF switch for easy mode switching. The minimum focusing distance is 0.4m, allowing for close-up shooting of subjects.
The lens's metal construction feels solid and durable enough to withstand everyday use. However, its 426g weight makes it comfortable for extended shooting sessions and suitable for travel. The filter diameter is 62mm, which gives you a wide range of affordable filters.
