Description
The Blackmagic Mini Videohub 4x2 12G is a compact video router designed for professional SDI signal routing between multiple devices in broadcast studios, streaming systems, control rooms, and mobile production setups. Instead of constantly rerouting cables, the device allows for rapid switching and distribution of signals through centralized control.
The model features four independent 12G-SDI inputs, which can be connected to cameras, video mixers, recorders, graphics stations and other professional signal sources. The two 12G-SDI outputs allow each input to be freely routed to a selected end device according to the specific needs of the production.
Support for modern video standards
Thanks to 12G-SDI technology, the Mini Videohub 4x2 12G works with a wide range of video formats and resolutions. DCI 4K and UHD 4K signals up to 60 frames per second are supported, as well as DCI 2K, Full HD 1080p up to 60 fps, 1080i, 720p, 576i and 480i. This allows the device to be used in both modern 4K productions and existing HD and SD workflows.
Support for professional SMPTE standards ensures compatibility with a wide range of studio equipment and facilitates integration into existing infrastructures.
Additional monitoring options
In addition to the two main SDI outputs, the device also offers four 12G-SDI loop outputs. These allow direct output of signals to monitors, recorders, multiview systems or backup devices without the need for external SDI splitters.
This functionality is particularly useful in multi-camera productions and workflows where simultaneous monitoring of multiple signals is essential.
Video and audio on one connection
The Mini Videohub 4x2 12G supports SDI embedded audio, allowing audio and video to be carried simultaneously over a single SDI connection. This reduces the number of cables required and makes it easier to build cleaner, more reliable professional systems.
The device processes 48 kHz / 24-bit audio signals, making it suitable for television, streaming and production applications.
Flexible management and integration
Routing can be controlled directly from the front panel or remotely via Ethernet, USB-C and Blackmagic Design software. Built-in Wi-Fi functionality provides additional flexibility in system configuration and management.
Thanks to its compact dimensions, the device can be easily integrated into both permanent studio installations and mobile production solutions.
