Description
The Sigma Aizu Prime 40mm T1.3 is a high-quality Large Format cine lens with an image coverage of 46.3 mm, designed for professional film production and use with modern cinema cameras. With a maximum aperture of T1.3, the lens offers excellent depth of field control and low-light capability, while maintaining high detail and smooth bokeh thanks to a 13-blade diaphragm.
The 40mm focal length provides a natural perspective suitable for both portraits and cinematic scenes with a balanced composition. The lens covers a variety of sensor formats from ARRI LF Open Gate to Full Frame and Super 35, offering a correspondingly wide angle of view (up to 49.3° horizontally with ARRI LF). This makes it a versatile solution for a variety of productions.
A minimum focusing distance of 38 cm allows for close-up shots with good detail, while the 0.16x (1:6.1) magnification gives additional flexibility when working with details. The 270° focus mechanism provides extremely precise control, which is key in film production, while the 70° iris allows for smooth and precise exposure adjustment.
The lens is designed for professional rigs and follow focus systems, using standard 0.8 MOD gears. The included support foot with 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads ensures stable mounting to rig systems. The front diameter of 95 mm makes it compatible with cinema accessories such as matte box systems.
Electronic communication via LEMO 4-pin (ZEISS eXtended Data) allows metadata to be transmitted to the camera, facilitating post-production and workflow.
