Description
The Genelec 8351B Active Studio Monitor is a high-end active studio monitor designed for professional monitoring, mixing and mastering in critical audio environments. The model uses a three-way coaxial design, in which the midrange and tweeter are located on the same acoustic axis. This provides extremely accurate phase coherence, a stable stereo image and precise sound positioning in space.
The system is equipped with three separate Class D amplifiers that provide a total power of 550 W, distributed between the low, mid and high frequencies. This allows for highly dynamic reproduction with minimal distortion even at high sound pressure levels of up to 113 dB. The low-frequency range is deep and controlled, while the mids and highs remain clear and detailed.
The frequency range reaches from 32 Hz to 43 kHz, allowing for extremely detailed reproduction of the entire sound spectrum. This makes the monitor suitable for professional applications where maximum accuracy is required when processing audio content.
The model is part of the SAM Smart Active Monitor series, which allows automatic calibration to room acoustics via an external measurement system. This ensures optimal sound regardless of positioning or room characteristics, improving sound balance and accuracy.
The monitor can be used in both horizontal and vertical positions, giving flexibility in different studio configurations. The housing is made of aluminum, which reduces resonances and improves acoustic characteristics.
Connectivity includes an analog XLR input as well as AES/EBU digital input and output, allowing integration into a variety of professional audio systems. RJ45 ports are also available for connection to control and calibration systems.
