The Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG II Art Lens for Leica L-mount is a second-generation fast wide-angle lens designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras and aimed at professional photography and video production. The model combines high resolution, precise autofocus and an advanced optical design optimized for today's high-pixel-density sensors.

The new optical design includes 15 elements in 12 groups, with four aspherical elements and two SLD (Special Low Dispersion) elements integrated into the design. The aspherical elements help suppress spherical aberrations and reduce distortion, especially at the edges of the frame. The SLD elements limit chromatic aberrations and improve color accuracy. The result is high sharpness across the frame, lower distortion, and more accurate color reproduction.
The 35mm focal length offers a versatile perspective suitable for reportage, street photography, portraits in the environment and landscapes. The 63.4° angle of view provides a balance between wide coverage and natural subject proportion.
The maximum aperture of f/1.4 allows for low-light work and creates a shallow depth of field with a smooth transition between subject and background. The 11-blade diaphragm contributes to softer and more even bokeh. The minimum aperture is f/16.
The minimum focusing distance is 28 cm (from the sensor), with a maximum magnification of 0.19x (1:5.4), allowing for capturing details at close range.
The model does not have built-in optical stabilization. The dimensions are 73 mm diameter and 96 mm length, weight 525 g, and the filter thread is 67 mm.
