Description
The Audio-Technica AT2020USB-XP is a large-diaphragm USB condenser microphone designed for professional-sounding streaming, podcasting, gaming, and vocal recording. The model uses a cardioid polar pattern that focuses sound capture from the front and effectively reduces background noise from the environment. This makes it suitable for home studios and controlled workspaces where signal purity is a priority.
The capsule is a condenser type (side-address configuration), which means that sound is received from the front of the housing - standard for studio microphones. The frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz provides full coverage of human hearing, ensuring detail when recording voices, vocals and instruments.
The AT2020USB-XP offers a direct digital connection via USB-C output and is USB class-compliant, allowing operation without installing additional drivers on compatible operating systems. The microphone does not have an analog output and operates entirely in a digital environment. Power is supplied directly via USB (5 V), without the need for an external adapter or audio interface.
The model supports 16- and 24-bit A/D conversion and an extended range of sample rates: 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96 and up to 192 kHz, which provides flexibility for different types of productions. Built-in Noise Reduction processing contributes to a cleaner signal, especially when recording in less than ideal acoustic environments. It does not have a pad and does not have wireless connectivity.
The housing features hardware controls for Direct Monitor Blend (balance between the direct signal and the sound from the computer), headphone volume control, and a quick mute button (Mic Mute). This allows full control during recording or live broadcasting without the need for additional software.
The microphone is compatible with Windows 10 and 11, as well as macOS 10.15, 11, 12 and 13. The housing is black, with a 5/8"-27 mounting thread and an included 3/8"-16 adapter for compatibility with most stands and arms. The dimensions are 142 mm long and 52 mm in diameter, and the weight is 375 g, which ensures stability during installation.
