The Genelec 8030 CP Active Studio Monitor is an active two-way studio monitor designed for professional monitoring in small and medium-sized studios, post-production, broadcast and mobile setups, where high sonic accuracy, power and reliability are required. The model is part of Genelec's proven 8000 series and offers significantly greater frequency range and sound pressure compared to more compact models, without compromising on control and linearity.
The monitor is equipped with a 5.13" woofer and a 0.75" metal dome tweeter, driven by two independent 50 W Class-D amplifiers. The bi-amp configuration provides excellent dynamics, low distortion and stable playback even at higher levels. The frequency range reaches 47 Hz to 25 kHz (-6 dB), which allows for better coverage in low frequencies and more accurate assessment of bass content when mixing.
The housing is made of cast aluminum with a bass-reflex construction that improves the efficiency of low frequencies and minimizes unwanted resonances. The maximum sound pressure reaches 110 dB, and the level of harmonic distortion remains extremely low – ≤0.05%, which guarantees clean and neutral monitoring even during dynamic passages. The monitor’s self-noise is below 5 dBA, making it suitable for critical listening and quiet working environments.
The Genelec 8030 CP features a balanced XLR input and flexible correction settings for adapting to room acoustics. LF Tilt, LF Shelf and HF Tilt controls are available, allowing precise adjustment when positioning near walls, in corners or on desks. The power supply is universal 100–240 V, and the low standby power consumption makes it suitable for permanent installation.
