Description
The Solid State Logic SSL 2 MKII is a two-channel USB audio interface designed for musicians, producers, and content creators looking for studio-quality audio in a compact, easy-to-integrate format. The model is an evolution of SSL's proven line of clean sound, low noise, and precise control, adapted for modern home and mobile studios.
The interface features two combo XLR/¼" TRS inputs that support microphone and line signals. The microphone preamps provide up to 64 dB of gain, allowing for both sensitive condenser microphones and dynamic models with lower output signals. Each input features individually switchable 48 V phantom power, giving you the flexibility to work with different microphone types.
The SSL 2 MKII also offers two additional Hi-Z inputs on ¼" TS, designed for direct connection of electric guitars and basses. With an impedance of 1 MΩ and a maximum input level of +15 dBu, they provide a stable and clean signal without the need for external DI solutions. This makes the interface suitable for recording vocals, instruments and electronic sources.
The device operates at a resolution of up to 192 kHz / 32-bit, which guarantees high detail, wide dynamic range and minimal distortion during recording and playback. The analog configuration includes a total of 2 inputs and 4 outputs, with four balanced monitor outputs allowing for flexible monitoring configurations. Two separate headphone outputs provide convenience when recording with more than one artist.
Two multi-segment LED indicators are located on the front panel, giving clear visual control over input levels. Direct monitoring with latency below 1 ms at 48 kHz allows comfortable recording without a noticeable delay between the input signal and what is heard in the headphones.
The SSL 2 MKII also features MIDI in and out, making it suitable for working with hardware synthesizers, controllers and external modules. Power is supplied directly via the USB-C connection, without the need for an external adapter, making it easy to use on the go. The interface is compatible with macOS and Windows and fits seamlessly into a variety of work environments from home studios to compact production setups.
