The Sony A7 V features an all-new 33 MP partially multi-coated Exmor RS CMOS sensor, engineered to deliver maximum detail without compromising speed. The A7 V's autofocus system covers almost the entire frame, thanks to 759 phase-detection AF points. The camera analyzes the scene in real time using data from the AI module, allowing for more accurate eye, face and motion tracking.
Focus remains stable even in challenging conditions: sports, animals in motion, street photography, concerts, events or night scenes. During continuous shooting, the camera performs dozens of AF and exposure calculations per second, so every shot remains correctly exposed and focused.
Speed without compromise – up to 30 frames per second and blackout-free shooting
The fast multi-layer sensor allows for up to 30 fps burst shooting with an electronic shutter and no blackout, allowing you to follow the action without interruption. This is key when shooting sports, dance, animals or any other fast-moving action where a second can make all the difference.
One of the big benefits of the new sensor is that it more effectively suppresses the unwanted “jelly” effect that is typical of rolling shutters when moving quickly.
