New sensor

The EOS R1's new full-frame back-illuminated sensor, combined with exceptional processing power, provides clean and clear images even in low-light conditions, sensitivity up to ISO 102,400, high readout speeds that minimize the negative effects of sequential readout the information and the blackout.

There is the ability to create 96-megapixel images directly in the camera, as well as Neural Network Noise Reduction technology.

The Canon EOS R1 features a new generation intelligent Cross-Type Dual Pixel autofocus system with 4,897 phase-detection points, optimized to detect, recognize and track subjects, even when they are briefly obscured by other subjects. It recognizes and tracks various objects and eyes, and in Action Priority mode it is even able to "predict" which object will perform a significant action.

Eye focus control is vastly improved over the EOS R3 - it's more precise and up to 2x faster.

6K60p RAW video and Cinema EOS

Although it is primarily aimed at quality photography, the Canon EOS R1 also has serious video capabilities - internal RAW video recording up to 6K at up to 60 frames per second, 4K with 6K overstoring (MP4/XF-AVC S/XF- HEVC S 4:2:2/4:2:0 8/10-Bit) with up to 120 frames per second and Full HD with up to 240 frames per second, as well as external 4:2:2 10-Bit recording of 4K video with up to 60 frames per second, IP streaming (2160p UVC/UAC) and 4-channel audio 24-Bit LPCM.

The camera supports Canon Log 2, Canon Log 3, HDR-HLG, HDR-PQ, Rec709, Rec2020 and easily integrates into multi-camera productions.
