Description

The Canon RF-S 3.9mm f/3.5 STM Dual Fisheye Stereoscopic Lens is the second model of its kind designed for 3D 180° VR shooting with Canon EOS R series cameras with an APS-C sensor. Combined with a Canon EOS R7 camera (firmware version 1.5.0+) and one of Canon's software VR solutions, the RF-S 3.9mm f/3.5 STM Dual Fisheye enables the creation of impressive 3D results that can be fully experienced with Oculus Quest 2 and other compatible devices.

After the brand first provided the ability to create high-definition VR content with a single sensor with the Canon RF 5.2mm f/2.8L Dual Fisheye lens and the Canon EOS R5 C camera, a solution for the more affordable crops is now available sensors with the combination of the new Canon RF-S 3.9mm f/3.5 STM Dual Fisheye lens and the Canon EOS R7 camera.

As the name of the RF-S 3.9mm f/3.5 STM Dual Fisheye suggests, the model combines two fisheye lenses in one body, allowing shooting on one sensor and saving time in post-production.

In addition to the new addition to the EOS VR system, Canon also offers updated software solutions - the EOS VR Utility and the EOS VR Plug-in for Adobe Premiere Pro - as well as a firmware version for the EOS R7 that has special functions for VR shooting, including an assistant for optimal framing Magic Window, also available in remote control mode with Canon Camera Connect and EOS Utility.

The Canon RF-S 3.9mm f/3.5 STM Dual Fisheye allows the use of standard photographic filters with a 30.5mm diameter thread on the back of the lens, as well as gel filters with the included holder.

Despite its compact size and light weight, this stereoscopic lens features a fast and quiet STM-type autofocus motor, quality optics and Air Sphere Coating (ASC) to minimize unwanted reflections and ghosting.
