The Blackmagic Design Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 broadcast video camera is a compact and lightweight model specially developed for recording live broadcasts. Unlike the Blackmagic Design Studio Camera 4K Plus variant, the G2 broadcast camera version is equipped with 12G-SDI BNC input and output for compatibility with SDI switchers.
The body of the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 is made of polycarbonate reinforced with carbon fibers and is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen capacitive HDR display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 for maximum ease of monitoring and control, while also supporting 3D LUT for viewing the shot. The video camera provides the possibility not only for live broadcasts, but also for recording on external USB media.
The Blackmagic Design Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 offers an ISO range of 100 (-12 dB gain) to 25,600 (+36 dB gain) and is optimized to effectively control image noise and grain while preserving the full dynamic range of the sensor . The main native ISO value is 400, suitable for shooting in a studio, and the secondary - 3200, usable in low light conditions.
The 4K sensor (4096 x 2160) measuring 17.78 x 10 mm, combined with the fifth generation of Blackmagic color science provides an image like from digital cinema cameras, and with the built-in DaVinci Resolve primary color corrector, the images are better than those of ordinary broadcast cameras.
In addition to a touchscreen display, the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus is also equipped with a set of buttons and controllers that allow quick and convenient adjustment of brightness, contrast, focus peaking, zebra, LUTs, etc., and different functions can be assigned to the buttons.
The camera has a built-in tally indicator for its status with a red indication for air, green for preview and orange for ISO recording. Transparent number plates can be attached to the indicator for easier orientation. The camera supports the HDMI tally standard of ATEM Mini.
