The professional Multiview function of this switch with up to 16 views simultaneously allows monitoring of all video signal sources, and a separate tally indicator is available for each camera. The Multiview feature also allows a separate view to be displayed for monitoring recording, streaming or the audio mixer.

The Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio HD8 is compatible with the Blackmagic ATEM Microphone Converter, which allows the inclusion of multiple microphones. The converter features 4 analog mic/line inputs with phantom power.

With this professional live switcher, parallel recording of external media via USB as well as internal M.2 media is also possible, and both types of media can be shared on a local network via Ethernet. The recording is in H.264 with AAC audio, which provides both broadcast quality and a refreshingly small file size.
