The Datacolor SpyderX Studio SXSSR100 kit serves to calibrate the various stages of exposure, editing and printing and includes a SpyderX Elite calibrator, a Spyder Cube instrument, a SpyderPRINT spectrocolorimeter and a metal case.
Datacolor SpyderX Elite
The Datacolor SpyderX Elite is a calibrator that allows you to achieve fast and precise tuning. The colorimeter works with SpyderX software to provide control and management of your monitor's calibration such as fine-tuning color, brightness and contrast.
The SpyderX Elite is equipped with a sensor to measure the light conditions and can automatically calibrate your monitor to the ambient light.
You also have an unlimited range of options and calibration presets depending on the specific application the monitor is being used for, including photo, video, pre-press or scientific purposes. These calibration settings allow you to quickly make the necessary changes and work with different combinations of gamma, white point and brightness.
In addition to computer monitors, the SpyderX Elite is also compatible with digital projectors, suitable for video and cinema applications, and can be used to set up multiple monitors or monitor configurations.
Spyder Cube
The Spyder Cube is a 3.8cm cube that allows you to easily adjust the color temperature as well as the exposure, brightness and shadows in your images.
The Spyder Cube is a spectrally neutral 3D tool that's small enough to fit in your pocket or camera bag and lets you adjust on the fly during shooting or in post-production.
Place the Spyder Cube in the lighting conditions in which you will be shooting. Orient the tool with the black face down and pointing towards you, with the two split white/grey faces fully visible. Take a picture of the cube and see what information and measurements it has taken:
1. The chrome ball measures glare
2. The white face defines the bright areas
3. Gray face measures color temperature and midtones
4. Black face defines shadows against Black Trap
5. Black Trap defines absolute black

The Datacolor SpyderPRINT spectrocolorimeter allows you to create specific profiles for all your printer, paper and ink combinations to ensure the color accuracy of your prints.
