Description

The H8 brings together an impressive array of features in a lightweight body that is more than ready to meet the diverse needs of podcasters, musicians, sound designers and content creators. The Cubase LE and WaveLab Cast bundled software programs give you the tools you need to edit, refine, export, and share your projects.

Applications

Working with Zoom H8 is extremely intuitive and user-friendly thanks to its 2.4-inch color LCD touch screen and three modes, powered by applications optimized for recording field, music and podcast.

Field App

Designed for field recordings, sound design, conferences, and more, the Field app gives you instant access to the levels of each channel, so you can be sure your recordings will never be cut. The app also allows you to easily and quickly adjust key settings such as lo-cut filter, compression, limit, noise reduction and more.

Music App

The Music app allows you to record up to 10 tracks at a time, adjust, mix and edit your tracks, and also gives you easy access to settings such as volume, faders and more. Connect Zoom's Guitar Lab and use the unlimited possibilities for software effects.

Podcast App

With four microphone inputs and 2 audio channels, the Podcast App makes recording your podcast extremely easy. You can choose from 13 high quality sounds or use yours to load from an SD card.

X / Y Microphone capsule

The Zoom H8 comes complete with the Zoom XYH-6 microphone. This capsule has two one-way microphones that are sensitive to signals coming from the front and less to signals coming from the side and back. The X / Y configuration microphones with adjustable angle between 90 and 120 degrees are ideal for stereo recordings in the studio or outdoors, live performances, rehearsals and podcasts.

Zoom Mic Capsules & Zoom Capsule System 2.0

With the Zoom Mic system, you can easily change the capsule to make sure you always use the right microphone according to the specifics of your work.

The Zoom Capsule 2.0 system provides new recording capabilities by adding the new generation of capsules (sold separately):

XAH-8 - XY / AB microphone that provides crystal clear stereo sound through the two condenser microphones. Rotate the capsules from a tight X / Y pattern to a wide AB model to enhance the stereo image of your recordings.

VRH-8 - Ambisonic microphone, which uses four condenser microphones to achieve 360 audio and has a built-in accelerometer to ensure that the capsule is always in the best position.

EXH-8 - Capsule with additional 4 XLR inputs, each with a special volume control knob.

Remote control

With an optional Bluetooth adapter BTA-1 (purchased separately) you get wireless control. All you have to do is insert the BTA-1 accessory into the Zoom H8 audio recorder and connect your iOS mobile device to be able to monitor the volume levels, press REC, PLAY and STOP.

Inputs and Outputs

Zoom H8 offers 4 XLR inputs with special switches and gain control. 2 additional combined XLR / TRS connectors with Hi-Z switches allow you to record input, microphones or directly record electric guitars and bass. To be able to monitor your recordings, the recorder also has a headphone output and a linear stereo output that allows you to connect your camera directly.

Multi-channel audio interface

The H8 has a USB audio interface. Connect via USB to your PC, Mac, iPad or tablet to secure up to 12 channels for simultaneous recording.

Recording time and file format

The H8 is powered by 4 AA batteries (included) or by the AC Adapter AD-17 (sold separately). Alkaline batteries support the H8 to operate for more than 20 hours of continuous recording, and when you use the H8 in stereo USB audio interface mode, USB power is possible.
