Description
The Fujifilm Instax WIDE 400 Instant Camera is an analog instant camera that combines easy operation, automatic exposure and large-format photos with a physical print. The Jet Black version offers a clean design suitable for everyday use, travel, events, family gatherings and creative projects. The camera works with Fujifilm Instax WIDE film, which is sold separately, and creates 62 × 99 mm images on 86 × 108 mm film. The lens has a focal length of 95 mm and a maximum aperture of f/14, and automatic exposure control and a built-in flash make it easy to shoot without having to manually adjust the speed and aperture.
Wide format for more details in the frame
The wide format is particularly suitable for group portraits, landscapes, architecture and shots where the surroundings are an important part of the composition. The larger print area compared to the Instax mini format allows more people or a larger part of the scene to be included in a single photo. After pressing the shutter button, the photo is automatically ejected from the camera, and development takes approximately 90 seconds depending on the ambient temperature. This immediate process makes the camera a suitable tool for creating physical memories, instant gifts and series of images for albums or creative projects.
Lens and focus modes
The lens has two optical elements in two groups and has two main focus modes. In normal mode, subjects are photographed at a distance of 0.9 to 3 m, while Landscape mode is designed for scenes at 3 m and more. A close-up attachment is included, which allows for photographing subjects at a distance of approximately 40–50 cm. This expands the possibilities for close-up portraits and photos of small objects. The optical viewfinder with 0.37x magnification and target markings helps with framing without the need for an electronic display.
Automatic exposure and built-in flash
Automatic exposure operates in the range Lv 10.5 - 15 at ISO 800, and the electronic shutter uses speeds from 1/64 to 1/200 s. The built-in electronic flash adjusts the illumination automatically and has an effective range of approximately 0.9-3 m. When using new batteries, the flash recharge time is up to about 7 seconds. For self-portraits and group photos, a self-timer with four settings - 4, 6, 8 and 10 seconds is provided. This allows the photographer to include themselves in the frame or position the camera in advance, without the need for another person to press the shutter button.
Power and ease of use
Power is supplied by four AA (LR6) alkaline batteries, and an automatic shut-off after five minutes helps to limit unnecessary power consumption. On the back there is a counter for the remaining frames and a window for checking the film pack inserted. The body also has a tripod socket, which is available separately. The dimensions are 162 × 98 × 123 mm, and the weight is approximately 616 g without batteries, film pack, strap and close-up attachment. The Fujifilm Instax WIDE 400 Black is a practical choice for people who prefer the analogue experience and want to receive ready-made physical photos immediately after shooting.
