Description
The Canon EL-5 Speedlite V2 is a professional system flash for Canon cameras, combining high power, automatic E-TTL control and wireless radio communication. The guide number reaches 60 m at ISO 100 and a focal length of 200 mm, which provides a significant reserve of light for both studio and field work.
The flash supports Canon E-TTL and E-TTL II automatic exposure, as well as manual mode. Output can be adjusted over a wide range from 1/1 to 1/1024, and exposure compensation is from -3 to +3 EV. High-Speed Sync and stroboscopic mode are supported for a wider range of creative applications.
The head features an automatic zoom, covering a full-frame range of 24 to 200 mm, and with the wide-angle adapter, coverage reaches 14 mm. Vertical tilt and horizontal rotation allow for precise light direction and work with reflections from ceilings and walls. A modeling light is also available for preliminary lighting evaluation.
The recharge time is approximately 0.1–1.2 seconds depending on the power used. This allows for fast sequential work and is particularly useful in reportage, event and portrait photography, where moments often unfold in seconds.
The EL-5 V2 supports radio wireless communication with TTL and manual control at a distance of up to 50 m. The system has 15 channels and 5 groups, which allows for the construction of more complex multi-light configurations and remote control of individual flashes.
Power is provided by an included rechargeable lithium-ion battery, eliminating the need for standard batteries and facilitating long shooting sessions. The flash mounts via the Canon Multi-Function Shoe.
The flash is compatible with the Canon Camera Connect app for Android and iOS, allowing for parameter adjustment, remote control and device configuration, further expanding the possibilities for off-camera operation and more complex lighting schemes.
