Description
The Audio-Technica BP4029 is a stereo condenser shotgun microphone designed for video production, television and radio broadcasting, and sound design. It offers Mid-Side (MS) recording and standard left-right stereo configuration, allowing you to choose the appropriate way to capture the soundstage for your production.
The microphone uses two condenser elements with different polar characteristics, cardioid and figure eight. This combination allows operation in MS configuration, in which the center and side sound components are recorded, as well as in left-right stereo mode. The selection of polar pattern and recording mode is done via the built-in controls, which allows adaptation to different recording conditions without the need to use a separate microphone for each configuration.
The BP4029 features a switchable low-pass filter that reduces low-frequency interference and unwanted sounds when needed. The filter operates at 80 Hz with a 12 dB per octave slope and can be used when recording outdoors or in situations where low-frequency noise affects the audio material.
The microphone is End Address, which allows it to be directed towards the sound source. Its compact design makes it suitable for mounting on a camera, as well as for use in professional video recordings and reports. The housing is black, and the mounting thread is 5/8"-27 female, with the possibility of using a 3/8"-16 female thread via the included adapter.
The Audio-Technica BP4029 uses a 5-pin XLR output and is powered by phantom power ranging from 11 to 52 V. A 0.61 m cable is included that converts the 5-pin XLR output to two standard 3-pin XLR connectors. This allows connection to suitable audio equipment for recording and processing the stereo signal.
