Description
The SmallRig 5717 S70-C2 Wireless Microphone with USB-C Adapter for Phones is a wireless microphone system designed specifically for use with smartphones and tablets equipped with a USB-C port. The kit includes two wireless transmitters, a USB-C receiver, a charging case, and the necessary accessories for operation, allowing immediate use without the need for additional adapters or external recorders. In addition to mobile devices, the system is also compatible with select Insta360 and DJI Osmo cameras using a USB-C interface.
The transmitters are designed to be as inconspicuous as possible during filming. The visible part measures just 8.8 × 29 mm, and each microphone weighs just 8.8 g, allowing it to be discreetly worn on a shirt, jacket, or T-shirt. The clip, made of nitinol shape-memory alloy, provides a secure fit while being gentle on the fabric and not altering the appearance of the clothing. This is especially useful for interviews, corporate videos, and documentary projects where the presence of the microphone needs to be minimized.
The system is based on the ATS3031 audio processor, which records sound with 48 kHz / 24-bit resolution. This provides enough detail for professional processing and preserves the natural sound of the voice. Depending on the environment, three noise reduction modes can be selected, which reduce the influence of ambient noise without compromising speech intelligibility. Three gain levels allow the microphone sensitivity to be adapted to the strength of the voice and the distance to the speaker, and two mixing modes provide different options for working with the two audio channels. Additionally, the built-in Auto Limiter prevents clipping during sudden changes in sound level, which helps to avoid distortions during recording.
To optimize the voice even before post-processing, the system offers nine preset EQ profiles, developed with the assistance of Grammy Award winner Luca Binardi. They allow different voice types to sound more natural and balanced during recording, reducing post-processing time.
Each transmitter provides up to 8 hours of continuous operation, and the included charging case increases the total autonomy of the system to over 40 hours. This allows it to be used for several shooting days without the need for constant charging, making it suitable for extended reporting, travel and field work.
