Description
The SmallRig 5647 Cage Kit for Nikon ZR is a camera cage designed for photographers and videographers who use the Nikon ZR in more complex shooting configurations. In addition to a protective cage, the kit includes a top handle and a cable clamp, which improve the camera's operation both when shooting handheld and when using an external monitor, microphone or other accessories. The design is tailored to the shape of the camera, while maintaining access to the main controls, connectors and battery compartment.
The base of the cage has an integrated Arca-Swiss quick-release plate, allowing the camera to be mounted directly on Arca-Swiss standard tripods without the need for an additional plate. The same base is also compatible with DJI RS 2, RSC 2, RS 3, RS 3 Pro, RS 4, and RS 4 Pro gimbals, making it easy to switch between tripod shooting and gimbal operation without disassembling the cage or changing the camera configuration.
The cage offers a variety of system expansion options. There are multiple 1/4"-20 mounting holes along the body that can be used to attach side handles, magic arms, external recorders, SSD holders, or other accessories. ARRI 3/8"-16 mounting holes with anti-twist locks ensure stable mounting of top handles and external monitor stands, preventing them from rotating under heavy loads.
For a compact video setup, the cage also features cold shoe mounts suitable for microphones, wireless audio receivers including the DJI Mic 2, and compact LED lights. The bottom has an integrated QD slot for quick attachment of professional straps, and additional holes allow for the use of both a wrist strap and a classic shoulder strap.
A cable clamp for HDMI and USB-C is included, which protects the camera's connectors and reduces the chance of cables being accidentally pulled out when working with an external monitor, recorder or computer. This is especially useful for long-term video shoots, studio work and event photography, where a stable connection between devices is essential.
