Description
The Sigma 28-45mm T2 is a professional cinema zoom lens for full-frame E-Mount cameras, combining constant T2 aperture, advanced autofocus and fully cinema-oriented mechanical control. This model is designed to meet the needs of modern productions, where a balance between classic cinema control and fast, reliable response for dynamic shooting is sought. The focal range of 28 to 45 mm covers some of the most commonly used focal lengths for wider scenes to natural mid-lengths, allowing smooth composition changes without changing the lens.
One of the key differences compared to traditional cinema lenses is the integrated autofocus system, which significantly expands its application. Thanks to a high-speed linear motor, the lens responds instantly and maintains stable tracking of moving subjects, making it extremely suitable for action scenes, gimbal or handheld shooting, as well as documentary projects with unpredictable situations. At the same time, full manual control is retained, allowing precise work in classic cinema setups with a focus puller.
The constant T2 aperture ensures even exposure throughout the zoom range, which is critical when moving the camera or changing the frame. The minimum T16 aperture provides additional control in bright light. The 11 rounded diaphragm blades create smooth, natural bokeh and contribute to the cinematic character of the image.
The optical system is optimized for full-frame sensors and provides high sharpness, contrast and consistency across the entire frame. The angle of view varies from 65.5° to 43.6°, allowing flexibility in framing. The minimum focusing distance of 0.3 m allows for close-up work and creating a strong depth of field in the frame.
The design follows professional cinema standards with 0.8 MOD gear rings for focus, zoom and iris, compatible with follow focus systems. The 200° focus travel allows for extremely precise focusing, and the 60° zoom rotation ensures smooth and controlled transitions. The presence of a 1/4"-20 mounting point facilitates integration into rigs and stabilization systems.
With a diameter of 95 mm and a filter thread of 86 mm, the lens is compatible with a wide range of matte boxes and filters. Its compact dimensions (151.8 mm length) and weight of 1.25 kg make it suitable for both studio work and mobile configurations such as handheld or gimbal setups. This makes it a versatile tool for operators looking for high cinematic quality, flexibility and modern functionality in a single solution
