The Panasonic DMW-DMS1E Shotgun Microphone is a compact digital shotgun microphone with a 10mm capsule, six directional modes using beamforming technology and 32-bit float recording, designed for precise sound capture in video and content. It connects directly to a camera via a hot shoe without cables, receiving power and transmitting audio digitally. The model features a built-in shock-mount to reduce vibration, a wind reduction system and an included windscreen, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor recording.
The microphone uses advanced beamforming technology that allows you to choose between six different directional modes depending on the situation, from focused front-facing recording to wider ambient sound capture. This gives you flexibility for different scenarios such as interviews, vlogs or atmospheric recordings.
32-bit float recording with dual A/D converters provides a wide dynamic range and minimizes the risk of clipping, even at loud sounds over 120 dB. This means greater freedom when recording without the need for precise levels during operation. There is also a backup mode that records additional protection tracks (CH3/CH4) for added security.
