The Genelec 8020 DPM Active Studio Monitor is a compact professional active studio monitor designed for applications where space is limited but the demands for sound accuracy and reliability are extremely high. This model is part of Genelec's well-established DPM (Directivity Control Monitor) series and offers the brand's characteristic neutral, analytical sound, used in studios, post-production, television, radio and mobile audio configurations worldwide.
The monitor uses a two-way active design, in which the low and high frequencies are driven by separate amplifiers. This approach allows precise control over the frequency spectrum and ensures low distortion even at higher listening levels. The total output power of 100 W provides sufficient dynamic headroom for nearfield monitoring and operation in small to medium-sized rooms.
The 4-inch woofer is optimized for tight and controlled bass that remains clearly defined without artificial emphasis. The high-frequency metal dome tweeter provides excellent detail and clarity in the upper frequency range, making the monitor suitable for critical listening, editing and mixing.
The Genelec 8020 DPM uses a bass-reflex aluminum enclosure that minimizes unwanted resonances and contributes to cleaner low-frequency reproduction.
