The Canon RF 7–14mm F/2.8–3.5L Fisheye STM is an ultra-wide-angle fisheye lens designed for photographers and videographers looking for a unique perspective and maximum impact in the frame. The zoom range from 7 to 14mm transforms the very nature of the image, at 7mm the lens creates a fully circular fisheye image with an impressive 190° angle of view, while at 14mm it transitions to a diagonal fisheye coverage, filling the entire frame with an approximately 180° field of view. This allows flexible control over composition and expression directly from the zoom ring.

The f/2.8–3.5 aperture ensures excellent low-light performance and stable exposure for video, while the minimum aperture of f/22–29 allows precise control over depth of field and light output. Thanks to the extremely short minimum focusing distance of around 15 cm, the lens is particularly effective for dramatic close-ups, where the foreground is strongly emphasized and the background unfolds with a characteristic fisheye distortion.
The optical construction includes 16 elements in 11 groups, including aspherical and low dispersion lenses, optimized to control distortion, chromatic aberrations and edge-to-edge sharpness. ASC (Air Sphere Coating) and Super Spectra multi-layer coatings significantly reduce flare and ghosting, ensuring stable contrast and rich colors even in direct backlit conditions.
The lens uses an internal zoom and internal focus, which maintains balance when working on a gimbal and eliminates focus "breathing" in video. The STM motor provides fast, accurate and almost silent autofocus, suitable for both stills and video production. An additional plus is the programmable control ring, which can be used for aperture, ISO or exposure compensation.
The unique drop-in rear filter system allows the use of ND and CPL filters despite the protruding front element, a key advantage for video and astrophotography. Complete with the L-series' signature weather protection and fluorine coating on the front element, this lens is a reliable tool for extreme conditions, creative projects and professional productions.
