Description
The Universal Audio Volt 1 is a compact USB-C audio interface designed for musicians, podcasters, and content creators looking for professional-quality audio in an extremely simple and affordable format. The 1-in / 2-out configuration makes it ideal for solo recording – vocals, guitar, bass, synth, or podcast microphone – while providing clean and detailed monitoring.
The device features a combined XLR/TRS input that supports microphone, line and Hi-Z signals. This allows direct connection of both condenser microphones (with 48V phantom power) and electric guitar or bass without the need for an additional DI box. Precise control of the input level is provided by a central control potentiometer.
Volt 1 operates at a maximum resolution of up to 192 kHz / 24-bit, which provides high detail, wide dynamic range and transparency during recording and playback. The interface uses USB 2.0 protocol via a USB-C connector for connection to a computer or compatible iOS device. Zero-latency direct monitoring is supported, allowing recording without noticeable delay.
For monitoring, two balanced 1/4" TRS outputs for studio monitors are available, as well as a separate 1/4" headphone jack on the front panel. This provides convenience for both home recording and small studio configurations. The device also features MIDI input and output (5-pin DIN), allowing integration of external MIDI keyboards, controllers, and synthesizers.
Volt 1 can be powered directly via USB or via an external 5V adapter (not included), making it suitable for both desktop and mobile use. It is compatible with macOS (including Apple Silicon), Windows 10 and later, as well as iOS devices.
