The ADAM Audio A7V active studio monitor is a professional active two-way studio monitor from the new generation A-Series, developed as a direct successor to the established ADAM philosophy of precise, analytical and reliable monitoring. The model is designed for nearfield and midfield applications and is suitable for music production, mixing, mastering, post-production and broadcast environments where high resolution and control over the entire frequency spectrum are required.
The A7V uses a 7-inch woofer with a composite diaphragm and a 1.3" voice coil, which provides deep, tight and well-defined bass. The frequency response starts at 44 Hz, which allows for reliable evaluation of low frequencies without the mandatory need for a subwoofer in many studio configurations. The bass reflex design contributes to effective reproduction of the low register, without unnecessary coloration.
The high-frequency range is reproduced by a 2-inch ribbon tweeter, capable of reaching 41 kHz (±3 dB). This provides exceptional clarity, detail and fast transient response, especially for vocals, acoustic instruments, cymbals and spatial effects. The active crossover at 2.8 kHz ensures a smooth transition between the two drivers and a stable stereo image.
The amplifier section is hybrid and optimized for frequency ranges. The woofer is driven by a powerful Class-D amplifier with 90 W RMS, while the high-frequency range uses Class-AB amplification with 15 W RMS. The total RMS power of 130 W provides significant dynamic headroom and a maximum sound pressure of up to 105 dB SPL (peak), suitable for professional work without listening fatigue.
The A7V features an advanced DSP section for acoustic adaptation, including HF shelf, HF notch/peak, low-mid notch/peak and LF shelf adjustments. These settings allow for precise adjustment to room acoustics, positioning relative to walls or working distance. Via Ethernet (RJ45) connection, the monitor can be integrated into a networked control and adjustment system within the A-Series ecosystem.
Connectivity includes a balanced XLR input and an unbalanced RCA input, allowing for flexible integration into both professional studio circuits and simpler setups. The monitor supports both vertical and horizontal positioning, making it adaptable to a variety of workspaces.
