The audio interface The RME Babyface Pro FS is a high-end USB audio interface designed for professional musicians, producers and sound engineers who seek mobility without compromising on quality. The compact aluminum housing is crafted from a single block of metal, providing strength, efficient cooling and a premium feel.
The interface offers 4 analog inputs and 4 analog outputs, as well as up to 12 digital inputs and 12 digital outputs via ADAT. The two XLR microphone inputs provide a wide gain range of -11 dB to +65 dB, allowing for work with both sensitive condenser microphones and quieter sources. Additionally, two 1/4" instrument or line inputs are available for guitars and synthesizers.
The maximum resolution reaches 192 kHz at 24-bit, with the interface supporting sample rates up to 200 kHz. The D/A converters offer a dynamic range of up to 118 dBA, and extremely low distortion values guarantee clean and detailed sound. Balanced XLR monitor outputs provide a stable connection to studio monitors, and two separate headphone outputs are also available – 6.3 mm and 3.5 mm.
Connection to a computer is via a USB-B port with USB 3.0 support, and the device can be powered directly via USB or via an external adapter. Power consumption is low, making it suitable for mobile setups.
The compact dimensions of 18.11 x 10.79 x 3.51 cm and weight of 680 g make the Babyface Pro FS an excellent choice for a mobile studio, live recording or professional production on the go.
