The Focal Trio6 Be is a high-quality, active studio monitor designed for professional sound engineers and mix engineers looking for a precise and neutral sound. It is a three-way, but also offers a 2-way “Focus” mode, which uses only the midrange and tweeter to simulate smaller, more limited systems. This allows the mix engineer to test their composition in different acoustic conditions and for different media.
The tweeter is made of pure beryl (inverted Beryllium dome), which provides extremely wide dispersion, linearity and fast response to high frequencies. The mid-woofer (5″) and subwoofer (8″) use a “W” composite sandwich cone, which gives a clean and detailed sound with minimal distortion. The cabinet is constructed of 22 mm MDF and includes two bass-reflex ports on the front, providing controlled and powerful low-frequency response.
The Focal Trio6 Be offers three amplifiers with different power ratings: 200 W for the subwoofer, 150 W for the midrange and 100 W for the tweeter. This provides enough power for dynamic mixes and handling different genres of music. Using an external footswitch (not included), it is possible to switch between 3-band and 2-band mode.
The rear panel provides potentiometers for adjusting low and high frequencies, as well as a 160 Hz notch filter, which allows for personalized adaptation of the monitor to the acoustics of the room. The maximum sound pressure reaches 115 dB, providing a high dynamic range. The rotating front part (baffle) allows vertical or horizontal positioning, providing flexibility in the studio.
