The Tilta Nucleus-M II Ultimate Kit is a professional four-channel remote lens control system designed for cinematographers who want full control over focus, iris, zoom and ND filters. This upgraded version builds on the first generation Nucleus-M with a more reliable connection, fast and precise motor response and new smooth motion algorithms that ensure smooth operation even in dynamic scenes.
At the heart of the system is the FIZ handwheel controller, which includes a 2.4-inch color touchscreen displaying current focus, iris and zoom settings. Control can be achieved through four different methods – handwheel, rocker, slider and potentiometer, with all parameters adjusted directly on the display. The motors have been upgraded with high torque and LED indicators, color-coded for quick orientation, and their compact design makes them suitable for mounting on grips, stabilizers or drones.
The PID 2.0 algorithm guarantees an instant response of 0.02 seconds, allowing smooth and lag-free control of each of the four channels. The fourth channel is specifically designed for ND filter control, allowing for precise exposure adjustments on the fly, suitable for gameplay scenes, handheld stabilizers or complex cinematic movements.
Ergonomic left and right handgrips provide maximum comfort and quick switching between primary and secondary controls. The system uses standard Sony L-Series batteries, offers power failure protection and allows the storage of up to 128 custom settings, speeding up preparation for a shooting day.
The Nucleus-M II supports multi-operator collaboration and integration with various ecosystems, including the first generation Nucleus-M, Nucleus Nano, and DJI gimbals, thanks to built-in protocols. Multiple mounting solutions such as baby-pin and monitor brackets, as well as 15mm and 19mm rod mounts, allow for quick adaptation to different configurations, handheld rig or gimbal.
The system also offers additional functionalities such as adjusting the brightness of the LED indicators on the motors so that they are not distracting in low light, and easy transport thanks to the waterproof hard case that protects the equipment during storage and transport.
