Description
The Canon EOS R8 is a lightweight and compact full-frame camera with a 24.2MP sensor and DIGIC X processor. The camera records UHD 4K 60p video with 6K overstorage, offers 4:2:2 10-bit recording, 4K 30p continuous recording for up to 2 hours as well as FullHD 180p video.
HDR PQ 10-bit and Canon Log 3 10-bit, UVC/UAC for use as a webcam and Full HD live stream without additional software to Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, etc. are available to videographers.
Handheld video is stabilized by the Movie Digital IS system, which can combine its action with the optical stabilization of compatible RF lenses.
When shooting video, visual markers indicate the different aspect ratios for different social media so that the shooter can frame as accurately as possible.
The Canon EOS R8 relies on Dual Pixel CMOS AF II with 1053 automatic phase detection AF points across the entire sensor area. The autofocus system provides improved object detection and tracking and recognizes people, animals and vehicles.
For remote control, streaming and file transfer, USB-C, micro-HDMI, external microphone input, headphone jack, remote control port, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are available. The Bluetooth connection allows the transmission of GPS data from a smartphone to the camera for geotagging.
