The Pentax WG-90 compact camera is designed for photographers and adventurers who want to capture the world in all its forms, underwater, in the mountains or in the desert. This ultra-rugged compact camera combines extreme weather resistance with a high-quality 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and a range of features that make it highly adaptable to a variety of scenarios.
The Pentax WG-90 body is built to withstand any test:
Waterproof up to 14 meters for up to 2 hours (IPX8),
Shockproof when dropped from 1.6 meters,
Cold-resistant to -10°C
The sensor captures fine details even in low light, and the 5x optical zoom (28–140mm equivalent) provides flexibility for everything from wide landscapes to portraits and macro shots. The WG-90 records video in Full HD resolution (1920x1080) at 30 frames per second, making it suitable not only for stills but also for video content. Additional video functions such as slow motion and time-lapse enhance creative possibilities.
The lens is surrounded by 6 bright LED lights that act as a ring light for macro photography, providing even, shadow-free light – extremely useful when shooting small subjects or underwater. Macro mode allows shooting from as close as 1cm, with the camera automatically adjusting focus and brightness.
The display is a 2.7-inch LCD with an anti-glare coating, allowing excellent visibility even in bright daylight. In addition, the WG-90 includes a number of automatic scenes and modes, including an underwater mode that optimizes color balance, and a digital microscope that offers exceptional magnification for scientific and hobby applications.
The camera also offers built-in digital image stabilization, face detection, advanced autofocus and interval shooting features that are rare in this class of device. Weighing approximately 200 grams and with a compact design, the WG-90 is easy to carry in any pocket or attached to a backpack using the included strap.
