The Kali Audio LP-6 V2 is the second generation of the popular 6.5-inch active studio monitor from the Lone Pine series. Designed for recording, mixing and mastering, it offers an accurate frequency response, low distortion levels and advanced room correction capabilities. The LP-6 V2 retains the same acoustic core as the original version, but adds significant improvements to the analog section, Bluetooth options (in certain configurations), lower noise levels and improved DSP.
At the heart of the LP-6 V2 is a 6.5-inch composite woofer for low and midrange frequencies, combined with a 1-inch fabric dome tweeter mounted in a waveguide for improved directivity and staging. This configuration provides not only an extended frequency response, but also a stable stereo imaging without coloration even in challenging acoustic spaces.
The DSP processor enables Room EQ settings via switches on the back of the unit, allowing for easy adaptation to a variety of environments – from home studios to professional post-production rooms. Settings include compensation for positioning (on a desk, near a wall) as well as bass and treble adjustments.
The monitors feature three inputs – XLR, TRS and RCA, making them compatible with a wide range of audio interfaces and mixers. The Class D amplifiers deliver a total power of 80 watts, with low distortion and excellent linearity, and the maximum SPL reaches 115 dB, which provides sufficient headroom even for louder monitoring.
The construction is solid and functional, with a rear bass-reflex port that reduces turbulence and contributes to a cleaner reproduction of the bass spectrum.
