Recording and streaming

RODECaster Video provides 100 Mb/s RTMP streaming directly to major platforms such as YouTube, Twitch and Facebook via wireless (Wi-Fi 6) or Ethernet. H.264/AVC MP4 via USB to external media is also possible, as is recording of the audio tracks in up to nine independent WAV files.

Video

For the purposes of creating and managing live broadcasts and pre-recorded video productions, Rode RODECaster Video has impressive capabilities. The video switcher features two HDMI outputs for program, preview or multiview and four 1080p HDMI inputs with automated frame rate conversion. Additional video signal sources can be connected via USB ports, and two USB-C ports allow two simultaneous connections to desktop computers and mobile devices for streaming.

The console allows you to easily add up to nine layers of video, graphics and other effects, choose from up to six media sources and seven preset scenes. Playback, transitions and other functions can be easily controlled with the control panel. The flexible overlay system allows simultaneous full preview and full program visualization, and in addition, Rode RODECaster Video allows the use of RODE Central software for more complex operations.

In addition to the ability to manually select between blue or green screen, Rode RODECaster Video offers automatic background replacement with other media or live video. There is also an option to automatically switch video sources based on the audio signal, as well as to quickly inspect a specific channel - to which video source it is connected, media information, graphics and more.

Audio

The Rode RODECaster Video is a fantastic, top-of-the-line audio tool. The audio interface features two Neutrik XLR/TRS ports with top-of-the-line Rode Revolution boutique preamps that have up to 75 dB of gain and extremely low noise levels (-131.5 dBV). These preamps can provide good results even from dynamic podcast microphones with a weak output signal. In addition, the audio interface also has several USB ports for an incoming Digital USB Audio signal. The console also has two integrated Series IV wireless receivers that provide seamless connectivity with a wide selection of wireless microphones such as the Rode Wireless GO II and Wireless PRO.

With RODECaster Video, up to 20 sound sources (or up to 9 channels) can be available simultaneously. The VoxLab editor allows quick modifications of various parameters - EQ, compressor, noise gate, high-pass filter, de-esser, Aural Exciter, Big Bottom and Compellor. Each channel features an APHEX hardware processor.

In addition, the audio interface offers two ¼" TRS outputs, two ¼" headphone outputs, USB and Bluetooth audio. Mixing is made easy by the built-in display and rotary controllers.
