The Sennheiser E906 is a supercardioid instrument microphone designed primarily for close-up capture of guitar amplifiers. Featuring a dynamic element and supercardioid polar pattern, the E906 offers excellent off-axis signal isolation and minimized residual noise.
The pattern effectively reduces unwanted off-axis sounds, reducing noise and the possibility of feedback. The microphone provides high dynamics and low distortion when recording audio signals with high sound pressure levels.
The E906 is capable of withstanding high sound pressure levels and reproduces fast starts with high accuracy, without distortion. With a frequency range of 40 Hz to 18 kHz, the E906 is an excellent choice not only for guitar amplifiers, but also for percussion and brass instruments.
The microphone features a switchable presence filter that offers three sound characteristics options: one to increase the presence range, one for "normal" presence, and one to reduce the presence range.
Thanks to its flat shape, the E906 can be easily positioned in front of the amplifier by hanging it from the cable – no stand required. The extremely robust construction allows the microphone to withstand harsh conditions, offering high durability and reliability for stage or studio.
