The compact Blackmagic Design PYXIS 6K Cinema Box Camera is a camera model that inherits the innovations of the Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera 6K and packs them into a box type camera.
The Blackmagic PYXIS 6K is equipped with a 6K full-frame sensor with 13 stops of dynamic range and records Blackmagic RAW and H.265 proxy files directly to the cloud, and can also be used for live streaming over Ethernet or 4G/5G mobile Internet.

6K full frame sensor
The Blackmagic Design PYXIS 6K Cinema Box Camera features a full-frame sensor with dimensions of 24 x 36mm and a resolution of 6048 x 4032 px. The large sensor size enables shallow focus video shooting with non-crop anamorphic lenses for a truly cinematic look.
The wide dynamic range of 13 stops and double base sensitivity up to ISO 25,600 ensures excellent results with low noise levels in a variety of lighting conditions. The camera allows shooting at up to 36 frames per second using the entire sensor area.
Various format, resolution and frame rate options
PYXIS 6K provides flexibility in choosing the different formats without negatively affecting the quality of the captured material. From Open Gate 3:2, through 6:5 anamorphic shooting without the need for cropping for the widescreen, to Super35 for close-ups. From 6K Open Gate 3:2 at 36 fps, through 4832 x 4032 anamorphic format at 24 fps to Full HD at 120 fps and more.
HDR and Dual-Native ISO
The high dynamic range ensures simultaneous preservation of details in the darkest and brightest areas, and together with the large color range and the included DaVinci Resolve Studio code, provides maximum freedom in shooting and processing.
Dual base light sensitivity ensures low noise levels, and gain adjusts automatically as ISO settings change.
Flexibility when working with accessories
The Blackmagic Design PYXIS 6K Cinema Box Camera allows the mounting of various tiles to which many accessories can be attached. The standard plate included in the kit provides 2 1/4"-20 threads and one 3/8"-16. The SSD board, which is also included in the package, enables the attachment of an external hard drive or a mobile device. Tiles of the operator's choice may be used instead.
Controllers and large display
Unlike most box camera models, the Blackmagic PYXIS 6K features a 4-inch FHD touchscreen display for monitoring and control. The touchscreen enables framing and focusing and provides information on various parameters including a histogram, 3D LUTs and more.
The various controllers allow for adjustments to ISO, white balance, etc., and some of them have programmable functions. All controllers can be locked to prevent accidental activation.
Various memory options
The PYXIS 6K has two CFExpress Type-B memory card slots, as well as a USB-C port for plugging in external media. The package includes a board for mounting an external hard drive.
SRT and RTMP streaming
The compact Blackmagic Design PYXIS 6K Cinema Box Camera enables direct streaming to platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and X, or internal streaming to the studio via the ATEM Streaming Bridge.
