The complex optical scheme consists of 21 elements in 15 groups that minimize various aberrations and distortions to achieve clear and sharp images and accurate color reproduction.
The Nikon Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR is equipped with a linear focus system and a stepper autofocus motor for fast, precise and at the same time quiet autofocus, and changes in the focus range (focus breathing) are minimized. Optical image stabilization provides up to 5.5 stops of compensation.
The housing is protected against moisture and dust for reliable use in adverse conditions.
