The Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD is a dynamic super-telephoto zoom lens suitable for a variety of applications from landscape photography to bird and wildlife photography. The focus mechanism with VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) motor provides extremely fast and precise movement and is compatible with Sony Hybrid AF and Sony Eye AF.
Image stabilization allows for handheld shooting even at 500mm, and the rotating Arca-mount tripod collar is equipped with strap eyes for added security and support when shooting.
The lens body is moisture resistant and the front element has a fluorine coating that repels dirt. It is equipped with a mechanism to lock the vario position, and the control ring has a stroke of only 75° for maximum quick response.
The optical scheme of the Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD is composed of 25 elements, including XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion), LD (Low Dispersion) and GM (Glass-Molded Aspherical) elements that control various aberrations and distortions and provide excellent clarity and color reproduction. Each of the elements is treated with BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) anti-reflection coating against internal reflections, glare and ghosting.
