The lens' new HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) type focus motor provides unprecedented speed and precision in focusing and tracking subjects while operating smoothly and quietly.
Improved image stabilization compensates up to 7 stops in the wide and up to 6 stops in the tele range of the zoom.
The optical scheme of the Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports includes three SLD and two low-dispersion FLD elements that correct chromatic and spherical aberrations and other deviations and provide a clean and sharp image with excellent color rendering, and the multi-layer coating of lenses minimize unwanted glare. The front lens has a coating that repels water, grease and other contaminants.
The nine rounded aperture elements contribute to a smooth and pleasing nature of bokeh.
The body of the Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports is made of aluminum alloy and TSC (Thermally Stable Composite), making it both lightweight and resistant to variations in ambient temperature. It is equipped with a dual rotary or pull zoom control system that allows for precise or fast operation, according to the needs of the shooter. There is a zoom lock button to limit the focus range, a switch for different stabilization modes and a Custom switch with the ability to select different functions.
The Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports comes with a tripod lens mount collar with a 90° rotation step and a removable heel.
