The Samyang AF 85mm f/1.4 II FE - Sony E (FE) is a lightweight and compact portrait lens for Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras that offers improved optical design and autofocus system over its predecessor. The bright f/1.4 maximum aperture helps when working in low-light conditions and allows for fine control over the depth of focus.
The lens features a Linear STM Stepping Motor that provides fast, quiet and precise autofocus as the Samyang AF 85mm f/1.4 II FE is optimized not only for stills but also for video recording.
The optical scheme of the lens includes 11 elements arranged in 8 groups, the high refraction and extremely low dispersion elements used contribute to high-quality images, and in addition, the 9-lamella diaphragm ensures smooth, beautiful and natural bokeh.
The Samyang AF 85mm f/1.4 II FE has a custom switch that can be set to manual focus or to adjust the aperture by turning the focus ring. Below the custom switch is a focus hold button that locks the lens at the desired focal length, and the user can assign other functions to the focus hold button through the camera's settings.
The lens body is made of metal, and the grooved rubber AF ring makes it easy to operate even when wearing gloves. The seal provides protection against moisture and dust and ensures use in severe weather conditions.
