The lens is based on Sigma 24-70mm f / 2.8 DG DN Art, but with 4 millimeters smaller range at the wide end of the zoom range, which allows a more compact and lightweight body while maintaining excellent optical characteristics.
The optical scheme of Sigma 28-70mm f / 2.8 DG DN Contemporary includes two FLD and SLD and three aspherical elements, which correct the various deviations for excellent sharpness, detail and color reproduction. Super Multi-Layer and Nano Porous coatings improve contrast and minimize reflections and ghosts. The diaphragm with 9 rounded elements provides smooth defocus.
The lightweight focusing element in combination with the fast and quiet stepper motor is a valuable combination for those who rely on a light and compact system with excellent qualities.
