Sony 12-24mm f / 2.8 G Master is an ultra-wide bright lens with double zoom in a relatively compact and light (847 g) body.
The optical scheme of the model includes three highly aspherical elements (XA), one aspherical, two Super ED and three ED (low-dispersion) elements, which provides uniform sharpness even at the edges of the frame and excellent aberration correction, and for smooth and elegant defocus the 9 rounded lamellae of the diaphragm also contribute.
The model has four XD linear autofocus motors that provide extremely fast, precise and quiet autofocus - especially valuable when shooting video - as well as minimal "breathing" when focusing.
Sony 12-24mm f / 2.8 GM has a built-in canopy and is equipped with a holder for gel filters behind the rear lens. With the lens you also get a template for cutting the filters to the exact size.
