The lens is characterized by its bright maximum f / 1.4 aperture, which is suitable for difficult lighting conditions and also offers improved field depth control for subject isolation and selective focusing techniques.
The optical design uses two aspherical and one SLD elements to help reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations and to enhance image sharpness and clarity, while Super Multi-Layer coating applied to the elements to reduce glare and achieve more greater contrast and accurate color rendering.
