The Zoom R16 Recorder Interface combines a variety of audio instruments into one powerful device - a multitrack recorder, a USB 2.0 computer audio interface, a DAW controller, a mixer and more. The device finds application not only for musicians who can record their songs live, but for film directors and photographers.
Using the Zoom R16 as a USB 2.0 audio interface for recording to a computer also opens up various possibilities. Musicians can use it to track and mix with their favorite music program or use the included Cubase 4 LE software. Film makers and photographers can record casts and ADRs directly in their favorite non-linear editing programs like Final Cut Pro.
The Zoom R16 Recorder Interface features everything: built-in stereo capacitors, 8 mic / line / instrument inputs for connecting external devices, 135 DSP effects and a chromatic tuner. Specialized and jog / shuttle controls can be used to manage the software, allowing the user to be less dependent on their mouse and keyboard and focus on their creative work.
To power the Zoom R16 are only 6 AA batteries (alkaline or rechargeable) are required. Using alkaline batteries gives you more than 4.5 hours of work, even with continuous recording. Alternatively, you can use the included AC adapter or USB adapter when connected to a computer. The R16 writes directly to SD and SDHC cards up to 32GB, giving you up to 100 hours of audio.
